Mozyrsalt, Belarus
Mozyrsalt needed to replace 0.4 kV of old low voltage panels with new panels within one of the workshop transformer stations, without the need to close down operation longer than necessary. Strict delivery time for the shelf equipment was the essential requirement for the project execution.
The end-user
Mozyrsalt
Mozyrsalt is the largest producer of vacuum-evaporated dietary salt in CIS and Western Europe. Its designed capacity is 360 thousand tons a year. The main line of the company’s activity is mining and production of extra evaporated dietary table salt. Extra salt “Polesie” is used for manufacturing other products. The assortment includes more than 50 products.
The Project
Mozyrsalt needed to replace 0.4 kV of old low voltage panels with new panels within one of the workshop transformer stations, without the need to close down operation longer than necessary. The project was initially oriented towards the application of MNS low voltage panels (ABB), however, afterward the prospective suppliers considered Logstrup- and Rittal-based manufacturers. ABB reserved the right to be the supplier of electric components.
The Challenge
Strict delivery time for the shelf equipment was the essential requirement for the project execution. Mozyrsalt production has a continuous process cycle, which involves only one annual interruption for 21 calendar days. During this period (1.5 weeks) a gap was scheduled to replace 0.4 kV switchgear within one of the workshop transformer substations. The scope of work not only involved the equipment installation, but also start-up and commissioning, including cable line test.

Why Logstrup
Type-tested switchgear that ensures operational reliability
The global partner who carried out this project is an authorized manufacturer of equipment based on the Logstrup Modular System in the Republic of Belarus. They prepared a complete scope of tender technical documentation (approximately 70 sheets containing the description of the panel design features, accompanied by wiring diagrams, installation and operation instructions). The brine atomizing test report (1000 hours) is a credible reason for using the Logstrup system; none of the other participants in the tender could guarantee similar parameters. Due to Logstrup efforts, as the assembly component supplier, and Logstrup partner in Belarus, all work was completed on time, without violation of contractual commitments. The design of the panels, rapid installation and serviceability were commended by Mozyrsalt maintenance staff.
